Data Centre Technician (MIS/IT 4)

Summary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants to fill the following position within the Information Communication Technology Division of the Police Department: Under the general direction of the Data Centre Manager, the Data Centre Technician has the responsibility to ensure optimal efficiency of data center infrastructure by working with individual servers and hardware equipment, maintaining infrastructure, and managing backups as and when required. The incumbent is responsible to maintain the integrity in handling data, either for the organization's protection or the privacy of the customers' information.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• • Certification in CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, or CCNP.
• • Three (3) years of experience in a similar position required, with supervisory experience a plus.

Additional Information and Instructions

• Special Conditions Associated with the Job:

  • • Required to work on a shift system.
  • • Work will be conducted in an office outfitted with standard office equipment and specialized software. The environment is fast-paced with ongoing interactions with critical stakeholders and meeting tight deadlines, which will result in high degrees of pressure on occasion.
