Communications Manager
Summary
Reporting to the Director, Communications, the Communications Manager will execute and deliver on key external and internal communications priorities related to the company's consumer and business services groups.
Responsibilities
Providing counsel and communications support for the organization's consumer & business services groups:
- • including go-to market strategies, key growth initiatives, product & marketing, sales, and retail.
- • Crafting compelling narratives to showcase key company initiatives to top tier media and key stakeholders, working cross-functionally with internal teams to develop and execute a successful communications campaign.
- • Creating detailed communication materials. The candidate will develop and edit press releases and memos, key messages, backgrounders, briefing documents, media alerts, and campaign presentations, infographics, and social media content.
- • Responding to media inquiries from local media outlets across multiple time zones.
- • Partnering with senior leadership to develop internal communications programs and content to engage the employee base.
- • Advising senior leadership on best communication practices internally and externally.
- • Co-manage communications and company technology tools such as the corporate website, employee intranet, internal social platform, corporate social media handles, employee newsletter, analytics tools, email distribution tool, etc.
- • Assisting in occasional communications support for corporate groups including HR, finance, procurement, and more as well as the organization's news & advertising businesses, which include a4 Advertising, Cheddar News, and News 12 Networks.
Required Skills
- • Has strong project management skills and is able to seek out and collate information from multiple departments across the organization
- • Has experience working directly with media
- • Is detail oriented and a self-starter willing to move quickly and adapt to change
- • Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- • Commitment to excellence and being a team player with a can-do attitude
Qualifications
- • 4-6+ years of communications/public relations experience at an agency or internally
- • Experience and background creating communications materials
