Head of Group Devices Business Strategy
Summary
The Head of Group Devices Business Strategy is a senior leadership role responsible for driving new customer acquisition, revenue growth, profitability, and churn reduction across all Digicel’s business units: Mobile (Prepaid & Postpaid). Spanning 25 markets, this role focuses on implementing effective devices portfolio, pricing, and channel development strategies to optimize performance across all sales channels (direct and indirect). The candidate will also structure and manage the P&L of the Devices business unit, ensuring optimal resource allocation (e.g., subsidies) to generate a positive impact on the organization’s overall profitability. By driving innovative initiatives to extend customer lifetime value (CLTV), increasing new customer acquisition, and integrating successful retention strategies, this role will play a pivotal part in reducing churn and maximizing long-term revenue potential across all regions.
Responsibilities
Revenue Growth and Profitability:
- • Develop and execute strategies for the Devices Category to drive revenue growth across all business units and regions
- • Align device offerings, pricing, and promotional strategies with revenue and profitability targets for each business unit's P&L
- • Optimize resource allocation, including subsidy management, to improve profitability while maintaining competitive device offerings
Customer Acquisition and Retention:
- • Design and implement strategies to drive new customer acquisition through innovative device offerings and promotional campaigns
- • Lead retention-focused initiatives across all sales channels to reduce churn and increase customer lifetime value (CLTV)
- • Collaborate with marketing and customer experience teams to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction through device programs
Devices Portfolio and Pricing Strategy:
- • Curate a device portfolio tailored to the unique needs of Mobile, prepaid and postpaid business
- • Develop pricing strategies that balance customer affordability with revenue and profitability objectives
- • Use market trends and customer data to refine portfolio and pricing strategies continuously
Channel Development:
- • Strengthen both direct and indirect sales channels to maximize device reach and impact
- • Build innovative programs for channel partners to enhance collaboration and performance
P&L Management:
- • Structure and manage the P&L for the Devices business units, ensuring alignment with financial goals
- • Monitor and control expenses, including subsidies, to achieve a positive impact on overall business profitability.
- • Regularly report on financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement
Vendor and Partner Relationships:
- • Build and maintain partnerships with vendors/OEMs, distributors, and technology providers to secure cost-effective and high-quality device offerings
- • Negotiate contracts that align with profitability and performance goals
Leadership and Collaboration:
- • Lead a high-performing devices team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability
- • Collaborate with regional and market-level leaders to align device strategies with local market needs
Market Insights and Innovation:
- • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge
- • Advocate for integrating new technologies, such as IoT, 5G, and smart home solutions, into the device portfolio
Required Skills
- • Strong financial acumen with the ability to structure and manage P&L effectively
- • Deep understanding of device ecosystems, market trends, and channel dynamics
- • Exceptional leadership and negotiation skills, with experience managing large-scale vendor relationships
- • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies
- • Experience across multi-market regions, particularly in the Caribbean or Latin America
- • Familiarity with Digicel’s business units and regional customer demographics
- • Background in leveraging technology and innovation to drive customer engagement, acquisition, and revenue growth
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Telecommunications, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- • 10+ years in commercial leadership roles within telecommunications or consumer electronics
- • Proven track record in P&L management, revenue generation, customer acquisition, and retention programs.
- • Expertise in devices portfolio management, pricing strategies, and customer-focused initiatives
