Summary

Accurately set up new groups and upgrade existing groups with benefit changes Maintain all group Health and Life policies on the operating system (GIAS) Process the reinstatement of policies with and without evidence of insurability on the operating system (CAPSIL)

Responsibilities

  • Input the relevant calculation codes based on the approved schedule of benefits for all new or renewed cases.
  • Set up new groups on the operating system.
  • Assist the making changes to the system as requested, to ensure accurate generation of Health Cards.
  • Prepare a monthly activity report.
  • Process reinstatement of policies with or without evidence of insurability.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of GIAS & AIS systems.
  • Working knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheets and word processing applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work with great accuracy.
  • Good time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of six (6) CSEC or GCE level subjects including English Language and Mathematics or a Diploma in Business Management or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Successful completion of AHIP Part 1 and 2 designations would be an asset.
  • At least two (2) years’ working experience in life insurance industry.

Reporting to the Registrar, the Assistant Registrar, Records ensures effective records management, including provision of library and research services and maintenance of the Treasury library and its collections.
