Summary
The Senior Manager, Group Accounting and Financial Reporting, will oversee all financial control aspects of JN Cayman and support group reporting functions of the Financial Holding Company (FHC). This role ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial and regulatory reports while adhering to compliance standards, minimizing risk, and enabling sound financial decision-making.
Responsibilities
- JN Cayman:
- • Submit timely and accurate financial reports to senior management for decision-making.
- • Ensure reconciliations, schedules, and analyses are completed on time.
- • Review monthly financial statements and variance reports.
- • Prepare monthly financial highlights for Board submissions.
- • Manage IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) computations and ensure GL reconciliation.
- • Oversee cash flow management to support liquidity and investment decisions.
- • Coordinate internal and external audits and drive staff development initiatives.
- Financial Holding Company (FHC):
- • Collaborate with finance managers to ensure timely and accurate group reporting.
- • Monitor the financial performance of subsidiaries and identify improvement opportunities.
- • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- • Support budget preparation, financial projections, and investment decision-making.
- • Develop systems to improve performance measurement and accountability.
- • Provide oversight for audit exercises and regulatory compliance as required by the Bank of Jamaica.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- • Expertise in accounting, financial management, reporting, and taxation.
- • Strategic planning, budgeting, and change management experience.
- • Strong knowledge of IFRS and other accounting standards.
- • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- • Proven ability to lead teams and work independently in a flexible environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- ★ Master’s degree in finance/accounting or ACCA Professional Designation.
- ★ At least 5 years of experience in a senior management role.
