Assistant Dietitian (HPC/NDT 2) - St. Mary

Summary

The North East Regional Health Authority, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health & Wellness with responsibility for the management and delivery of public health services within the parishes of St. Ann, St. Mary and Portland, is seeking a dynamic, proactive, experienced and analytical individual with strong team building skills to fill the position of Assistant Dietitian at the Annotto Bay Hospital. Salary Range: 💰 $2,795,163 – $3,322,571 JMD per annum.

Responsibilities

• • Maintain effective and efficient workflow within the Dietetics Department through consistent communication.
• • Delegate responsibilities to subordinates such as Head Cook, Cooks, and Hospital Attendants.
• • Provide staff with the necessary assistance and direction to perform their duties effectively.
• • Liaise with the Public Health Department regarding food handlers’ permits.
• • Assist with the coordination of quarterly meetings with all food service workers.
• • Assist the Institutional Dietitian in determining the need for in-service training programmes.
• • Coordinate Food Service production in accordance with established procedures of the Dietetics Department, in conjunction with the Institutional Dietitian.
• • Inspect and taste food for quality and quantity.
• • Check for plate waste on wards and liaise with the Institutional Dietitian.

• • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
• • Excellent oral and written communication skills
• • Proficient in Microsoft Word
• • Excellent team building and observational skills
• • Knowledge of Clinical Nutrition Services.
• • Knowledge of Food Service System Management

Qualifications

• • Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
• • At least two (2) years working experience in Food Production and Service
• • Supervisory Management Training & Certification
• • Registration with the Council for the Professions Supplementary to Medicine
