Payroll Supervisor

Summary

The Payroll Supervisor will oversee and supervise the organizations payroll functions, ensuring that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Responsibilities

• • Participate on recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new staff in the department
• • Ensure that payroll is processed timely and accurately
• • Review payroll calculations, deductions, insurance coverage, wage garnishments, tax filings, and child support
• • Maintains or oversees the maintenance of employee records
• • Address payroll related queries and requests from employees
• • Provide support in tax calculation and filing for employees
• • Ensures compliance with local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
• • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
• • Review and recommend improvements to existing payroll procedures
• • Analyse payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions
• • Performs other payroll related duties assigned on a need-to basis
• • Oversee employee payroll accounting, transactions and reporting activities
• • Provide assistance as well as constructive and timely performance evaluations to direct reports
• • Handle discipline of employees in accordance with company policy
• • Adhere and enforce adherence to the payroll SOP

Qualifications

• • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required
• • 4+ years of experience in payroll processing required with two years in a supervisory or management role preferred
