Systems Analyst (MIS/ IT 4)
Summary
Under the general direction of the Director, Data and Systems Management, the Systems Analyst is primarily responsible for the execution of activities within the Programme for International Students Assessment (PISA). The incumbent will have a dotted line reporting to the Manager, Special Programmes, and is expected to execute duties related to the IT and Systems needs of PISA, such as hardware troubleshooting, conducting training and supporting data management. đź’°Salary: $3,501,526 - $4,709,163 JMD per annum
Responsibilities
Technical/Professional:
- • Analyzes user requirements to design and implement computer systems;
- • Supports the optimisation of existing systems and equipment for optimal output;
- • Supports the IT and systems needs of the Exams & Assessment Services Branch;
- • Provides support to stakeholders of the PISA with solving computer-related issues;
- • Co-ordinates the testing and monitoring of computer programmes and systems in accordance with PISA guidelines;
- • Recommends new equipment or software packages;
- • Troubleshoots hardware and network problems for the Branch;
- • Reviews and resolves web-based issues with nationally used operating system;
- • Supports filed employees with IT and systems-related challenges;
- • Partners with the Project Coordinator to ensure survey data are collected and processed in accordance with PISA guidelines;
- • Supports the testing of the survey delivery system provided for the delivery of PISA data collection and monitoring needs for schools;
- • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders regarding projects and the status of PISA;
- • Supports the training of stakeholders on PISA and its implementation;
- • Participates in school sampling survey training.
Management/Administrative:
- • Conducts network security reviews to ensure data security is maintained;
- • Supports the management of project documents and storage;
- • Supports the administration and co-ordination of the PISA activities;
- • Participates in meetings and workshops concerning the Branch’s strategic planning and policy agendas;
- • Keeps current with developments in the areas of data analysis, data management and research surveys;
- • Performs any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

- • Knowledge of databases such as SAS, SPS and Microsoft Access
- • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Qualifications
- • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related areas from a recognized institution;
- • Certificate in Project Management for ICT would be an asset;
- • Experience developing and administering surveys, conducting data analysis and management;
- • Two (2) years’ experience in an Information Technology or Software Development environment.

- • May be required to work beyond normal work hours in order to meet deadlines;
- • May be required to work on public holidays/weekends.
