Business Analyst
Summary
GK General Insurance Company seeks to identify an individual looking for an excellent opportunity to progress his/her career; and who possesses the vision and energy to help drive dynamic changes in the company, in the following capacity:-​ Business Analyst
Responsibilities
- • Document and analyse current and future business processes using interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, surveys, business process analysis and workflow analysis.
- • Produce process-related documentation including workflows, wireframes, swimlane, Ishikawa, sequence and activity diagrams, user stories and use cases.
- • Collect, analyse, understand and translate current and future business needs into detailed requirements and plans.
- • Produce requirements-related documentation including business, functional and non-functional requirements and traceability matrices.
- • Apply business process reengineering methodologies to improve efficiencies and create lean processes.
- • Create Policies, Procedures, User and Technical Manuals and training documentation.
- • Assume the role of liaison between business users and technical staff on each assigned initiative.
- • Develop Test Strategy, Test Plans and lead Test Execution.
- • Assist in the design and delivery of training programs to technical and non-technical users.
Required Skills
Functional competencies:
- • Sound knowledge of Business Process Analysis and Business Process Improvement methodologies.
- • Sound knowledge of Project Management principles.
- • Strong documentation skills.
- • Knowledge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) terminologies would be an asset.
- • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) would be an asset.
- • Skilled in interpreting business needs and translating them into functional and non-functional requirements.
- • Results oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.
- • Strong written and verbal communication with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills are mandatory.
Behavioral competences:
- • Flexible, organized, proactive, quick thinker, used to working within deadlines/time constraints in a high-pressure environment, solution oriented.
- • Ability to grasp new information and concepts quickly
- • Strong written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
- • Superb customer-service orientation and interpersonal skills
- • Strong attention to details as well as technical & analytical thinking
- • Ability to interact professionally and maintain professionalism across all levels of within and outside the organization
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Banking and Finance or related field.
- • IIBA-Certified Business Analyst Professional or PMI certification would be an advantage.
- • Formal training in Six Sigma, Lean Processing and Change Management is an asset.
- • Minimum three (3) years’ experience working in the financial industry.
- • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Business Process Analysis, Design or Improvements.
- • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in requirements gathering techniques, process mapping and process reengineering
- • Exposure to the General Insurance industry is an asset
