Summary

The incumbent is responsible for providing computer support services to users by coordinating and facilitating analysis, implementation and maintenance of enterprise-wide business applications. The scope of responsibilities includes utilising internal and external tools and resources to troubleshoot systems and applications, and resolve problems, thereby ensuring user satisfaction. 💰$5,612,841.27 - $6,418,683.77 JMD per annum.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor and maintain assigned application systems to ensure users’ requirements are met and the use of the systems is optimized, while improving efficiency in processing methods.
  • Provide support, configuration, testing, training and customization for assigned applications.
  • Develop, implement and monitor new projects ensuring co-ordination with existing projects and integration of application and user requirements.
  • Continuously liaise with systems users to gather information to ensure technical compatibility with organizational requirements; make and implement recommendations to optimize system use and performance.
  • Prepare and maintain user manuals, references and specification documents on methods and procedures used for existing and/or new systems.
  • Identify and document systems, databases, processes, procedures, requirements, systems specifications and schematics.
  • Prepare detailed, logical flowcharts and diagrams outlining the order in which data are to be processed, where decisions must be made, and the sequence of equipment operations involved for systems supported.
  • Monitor system performance; coordinate system updates to improve efficiency and productivity. Facilitate and assist project teams as directed.
  • Create, change and delete user accounts, upgrade administrative tools and utilities; add new services and configure as necessary to meet organizational needs as directed.
  • Perform performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization, and configure/add new services as required.
  • Perform and/or facilitate data back-ups and restoration for assigned applications.
  • Offer technical advice on user requirements, systems selection, implementation, design, development and programming.
  • Develop Information System (I.S) and reports in accordance with organization’s specifications and goals.
  • Any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • BSc. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Three (3) years’ experience in developing computer applications in an on-line environment
