
Payroll Officer (FMG/AT 2)
Summary
Under the direction of the Manager, Payroll the incumbent researches, prepares refund contribution and other statutory confirmation letters and, maintains the salaries cash book. đź’°Salary: $1,711,060 - $2,301,186 JMD per annum.
Responsibilities
- • NHT, NIS, income tax and pension matters researched
- • Refund/confirmation and other letters prepared
- • Maintains the salaries bank account cashbook
- • Records cheque transactions and lodgements
- • Balances the statutory payments made by Accountant General
- • Prepare P24 per request
- • Prepares monthly and annual statutory returns
- • Liaises with internal/external customers and provide relevant information
- • Assists with the notation on salary cards
- • Assist with the delivery packaging for salary deductions
- • Prepares payroll reports
- • Prepares P24 per request
- • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- • AAT Level 2; or
- • ACCA-CAT Level B/Level 2; or
- • NVQJ Level 2, Accounting; or
- • Certificate in Accounting from an accredited University; or
- • Completion of second year of the BSc. Degree in Accounting/Management Studies with
- • Accounting or BBA Degree at an accredited University; or
- • ASc. Degree in Business Studies/Business Administration/Management Studies; or
- • ASc. Degree in Accounting from the Management Institute for National Development MIND); or
- • Certificate in Government Accounting Level 2.
Continuous Professional Development:
- • Attend relevant training on emerging trends and practices within the customer services field.
- • Network within the profession and relevant associations to keep abreast with the industry.
Additional Information and Instructions
Specific Conditions associated with the job:
- • Work will be conducted in an office outfitted with standard office equipment and specialized software.
- • The environment is fast paced with on-going interactions with critical stakeholders and meeting tight deadlines which will result in high degrees of pressure, on occasions.
- • May be required to travel locally and overseas to attend conferences, seminars and meetings.
