Summary

Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, Passport Production, the Senior Review Officer is responsible for overseeing and ensuring consistent adherence to quality standards and procedures throughout the production process. This includes supervising Production Specialists and Quality Assurance Officers, conducting quality inspections, troubleshooting any issues, and reporting findings to the Operations Supervisor. đź’°Salary: $2,803,771 JMD per annum

Responsibilities

  • Technical/Professional:

    • • Supervise and provide guidance to the Production Specialist and Quality Assurance Officer.
    • • Monitor and analyze data capture processes/inputs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • • Oversee the quality assurance and control processes within the passport production services unit.
    • • Develop and implement quality control methodologies to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable regulations.
    • • Conduct regular audits to identify any potential issues and create resolution plans.
    • • Review and update quality assurance procedures and work instructions as necessary.
    • • Provide regular reports on quality assurance status and recommend areas for improvement.
    • • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the passport production team.
    • • Conduct training sessions for the Passport Production Specialist and Quality Control Technician on quality control methodologies and procedures.
    • • Ensure adherence to security protocols and data protection regulations during the passport production process.
    • • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory changes related to passport production.
    • • Participate in cross-functional teams and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
    • • Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    • • Develop and maintain documentation for quality control processes and activities.
    • • Monitor and evaluate equipment and technology upgrades to enhance quality control processes.
    • • Conduct internal audits to identify non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Management/Administrative:

    • • Contributes to the development of the Unit’s Operational Plan and Budget.
    • • Prepares and submits performance and other reports relating to the achievement of targets for the PICA as required and ensures timely submission of all documents/information requested.
    • • Maintains quality customer service principles, standards and measurements for the PICA.
    • • Develops Individual Work Plan based on strategic alignment with PICA’s Corporate/Operational Plan.
  • Human Resources:

    • • Provides leadership and guidance to staff supervised through effective planning, delegation, communication, training, mentoring and coaching.
    • • Identifies training/development needs of staff supervised and makes recommendations as required.
    • • Establishes and maintains a system that fosters a culture of team work, employee empowerment and commitment to the Unit’s goals.
    • • Develops staff in line with organizational goals to deliver effective promotion and communication service.
    • • Fosters an atmosphere of trust, high ethical and confidential standard.
    • • Ensures that staff supervised is aware of and adheres to the policies, procedures and regulations which guides the operations of the PICA.
    • • Recommend leave for staff supervised in keeping with established Human Resource policies and procedures.
    • • Participates in the recruitment of staff for the Unit, and recommends promotion.
    • • Recommends disciplinary action in keeping with the established Human Resource policies and procedures.
    • • Conducts monthly and other ad hoc meetings with staff supervised.
  • Other:

    • • Performs other related duties that may from time to time be assigned.

    • • Strong knowledge of generally accepted principles and practices related to Quality Assurance, and data protection.
    • • Strong knowledge of the PICA’s policies and procedures.
    • • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act, policies and procedures.
    • • Proficiency in the use of relevant computer software and computer applications.

Qualifications

  • • Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent qualification.
  • • One (1) years’ experience in a production environment in a supervisory role.
  • OR
  • • HEART/NSTA Certification in Supervisory Management Level 3.
  • • Five (5) years’ experience in a production environment in a supervisory role.

  • Special Conditions Associated with the Job:

    • • Duties will be performed in an office equipped with standard office tools and specialized software.
    • • The environment is a fast paced production setting with ongoing interactions with other employees who may be located in close proximity.
    • • Meeting tight deadlines which will result in high degrees of pressure is a common feature of the job.
    • • The incumbent may be required to work beyond normal office hours from time to time.
