
Database Administrator (MIS/IT 4)
Summary
Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants to fill the following position within the Information Communication Technology Division of the Police Department: Database Administrator (MIS/IT 4) Under the general direction of the System Development and Maintenance Manager, the Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of databases and guaranteeing that data in them come from reliable sources, are stored securely and optimally; and for backing up systems to prevent data loss in case of a power outage or other disaster. The DBA oversees the development of new databases and will inform end users of changes in databases and train them to utilize systems.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, ICT and Management Information Systems or a related discipline;
- • At least two (2) years in a Database Administrator role.

Special Conditions Of The Job:
- • Work will be conducted in an office outfitted with standard office equipment and specialized software.
- • The environment is fast paced with ongoing interactions with critical stakeholders and meeting tight deadlines which will result in high degrees of pressure, on occasion.
- • May be required to travel locally and overseas to attend conferences, seminars and meetings.
