Summary

The North East Regional Health Authority, a statutory body under the Ministry of Health & Wellness with responsibility for the management and delivery of public health services within the parishes of St. Ann, St. Mary and Portland, is seeking a dynamic, proactive, experienced and analytical individual with strong team building skills to fill the position of Assistant Dietitian at the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital. 💰$2,410,261 – $2,865,042 per annum

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of standardized recipes
  • Instruct kitchen staff in the proper methods of food preparation, giving recipes when needed
  • Monitor service line ensuring that standard for meal service is maintained
  • Conduct performance evaluation of subordinates
  • Prepare as submit monthly reports as required
  • Assist with the coordination of quarterly meetings with all food service workers.
  • Assist with coordination the Food Service production in accordance with established procedures of the Dietetics Department
  • Assist with the inspection and tasting food for quality and quantity
  • Assist with checks for plate waste on wards

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of Food Service Systems Management
  • Knowledge of food, nutrition and diet therapy
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent team building and observational skills
  • Knowledge of Clinical Nutrition Services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Internship or supervised Practice Programme in Dietetics & Nutrition
  • Registration with the Council for the Professions Supplementary to Medicine
  • Valid Food Handler’s Permit
