Spatial Analyst (MIS/IT 5)

Summary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants to fill the following position within the Information Communication Technology Division of the Police Department: Under the general direction of the Manager, GIS and Analytics, the Spatial Analyst is responsible for developing spatial data from maps, documents, and other data sources; performing quality control testing and evaluations for all data; analyzing data and developing spatial data models and maps; and managing and maintaining data sets.

Qualifications

• • A Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Earth Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• • Three (3) years' experience in a similar position with professional-level experience in the design, development, implementation, and administration of geographic information systems, including analysis, database development, and integration.

• Special Conditions Associated with the Job:

  • • Work will be conducted in an office outfitted with standard office equipment and specialized software. The environment is fast-paced with ongoing interactions with critical stakeholders and meeting tight deadlines, which will result in high degrees of pressure on occasions.
  • • Will be required to travel locally and overseas to fulfill the requirements of the role.
