Network Engineer (MIS/IT 4)

Summary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants to fill the following position within the Information Communication Technology Division of the Police Department: Network Engineer (MIS/IT 4) Under the general direction of the Network Manager, the Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of the to ensure maximum uptime for users. The role can include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, ICT and Management Information Systems or a related discipline;
• • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification;
• • Three (3) years' related experience in a Network Administration role.

• • Work will be conducted in an office outfitted with standard office equipment and specialized software.
• • The environment is fast paced with ongoing interactions with critical stakeholders and meeting tight deadlines which will result in high degrees of pressure, on occasion.
• • Will be required to travel locally and overseas to fulfill the requirements of the role.
