Identity Verification and Intelligence Analyst (Level 4)
Summary
Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, Identity Verification and Intelligence, the Identity Verification and Intelligence Analyst is responsible for conducting detailed analysis and interpretation of facial recognition data to support the PICA’s border protection mandate. The role involves utilizing advanced facial recognition software, techniques, and methodologies to match images with existing databases. 💰Salary: $2,803,771 JMD per annum
Responsibilities
Technical/Professional:
- • Manually enroll facial templates, within the allocated service level window using facial recognition application.
- • Adjudicate and indicate within seconds whether image pairs are of the same individual or a different person.
- • Use facial recognition application to escalate image pairs of the same person for further review.
- • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and security teams to provide assistance and conduct searches based on facial recognition findings.
- • Participate in court proceedings.
- • Report and escalate any technical issues with the facial recognition application to the Supervisor.
- • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and potential security threats.
- • Prepare and submit reports, as necessary, in relation to duties performed using the facial recognition application.
- • Ensure data security and privacy in accordance with Government of Jamaica laws and regulations.
- • Apply statistical and data analysis techniques to facial recognition datasets.
- • Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures for facial recognition processes.
- • Prepare and submit case files as necessary for investigation in relation to duties performed using the facial recognition application.
- • Prepare and submit correspondence to the immigration unit to facilitate border security.
- • Maintain and submit a log of application forms to the Document Management and Logistics Section for evidential support in court cases.

- • Knowledge of biometric databases and systems.
- • Experience with image analysis for facial recognition.
- • Strong knowledge of the PICA’s policies and procedures.
- • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act, policies and procedures.
- • Proficiency in the use of relevant computer software and computer applications.
Qualifications
- • Associate Degree in Computer Studies, Cyber Security or equivalent qualification.
- • Two (2) years’ experience in a related field.
- • Diploma in Computer Studies, Cyber Security or equivalent qualification.
- • Three (3) years’ experience in a related field.
- • HEART/NSTA Data Entry Job Certificate Level 2 or equivalent qualifications.
- • Five (5) years’ experience in a related field.

Special Conditions Associated with the Job:
- • Duties will be performed in an office equipped with standard office tools and specialized software.
- • The environment is a fast paced production setting with ongoing interactions with other employees who may be located in close proximity.
- • Meeting tight deadlines which will result in high degrees of pressure is a common feature of the job.
- • The incumbent may be required to work beyond normal office hours from time to time.
