Groundsman (LMO/TS 1)

Summary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position within the St. Catherine North Division (Linstead Police Station) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force. The incumbent is responsible for undertaking all ground-related activities in support of the operation of the department, maintaining a clean and attractive environment by using plants and other economic methods to enhance the appearance and cleanliness of the grounds.

Responsibilities

• Key Outputs:

  • • Well-manicured lawns and hedges
  • • Pathways cleaned and free of obstruction
  • • Drains cleared of debris
  • • Motor vehicles washed
  • • Work area cleaned

• Other:

  • • Perform other related functions assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.
  • • Wash service vehicles at stations where a motor vehicle washer is not assigned.

Qualifications

• • Secondary School level of education
• • One year's experience in a similar capacity

Additional Information and Instructions

• Special Conditions Associated with the Job:

  • • May be required to work beyond regular working hours
  • • Perform heavy physical labour on a daily basis
  • • Work in all weather conditions.
